Owner, Storyteller, Chief Dog Lover
I have a pretty serious infatuation with the Bull City. Some might call it love. I go over on my data usage every. single. month. I’m pretty sure it’s the fact that I spend most of my free time sharing pictures of my two pups (the Big Dog and the Little Dog) through hundreds of Instagrams and texts. The mountains of North Carolina make my heart smile, and I dream of one day running away there. I’m on a one-woman mission to show the world that veganism is neither limiting, boring, or flavorless. Past experiences working with high-performing schools and teachers have helped to calibrate expectations high, and I still love any chance I get to work in the world of education. On a daily basis I feel incredibly grateful to have found a career that still feels a lot like a hobby. (And I get to play with drones during business hours?! #heckyeah)
Editor, Cinematographer, StoryTeller
In west Philadelphia, born and raised, filming or editing is how Tyler spends most of his days. After moving to California to attend USC, he received his film degree from Los Angeles Film School and went on to work various positions inside the entertainment industry. He moved to Durham in 2013 and worked as a editor/videographer for various Triangle-based production and marketing companies before finally landing at BDLB (he and his wife are proud former BDLB wedding clients). He believes in three things — the power of love, the power of story, and the power of pit bulls (specifically his dog Vernon, a rescue from South Central LA who is now living the American Dream).
Brad is one of our oldest and favorite second-shooters, having shot over 50 weddings with BDLB over the last five years. While his background is first and foremost as a photographer, chances are the shots from any BDLB film that take your breath away are his. In his spare time he rides his bike for hundreds of miles at a time (or at least 24 hours at a time), competes in Ironman competitions, or can be found taking people on pedicab roller coaster rides. Never tried it? Perhaps you should head to Raleigh on a Saturday night and look for the red-headed driver.
Michelle has been shooting with BDLB since 2014, with serious storytelling skills to capture the details and moments that make our films great. She loves using her camera as an excuse to meet interesting people and learn their stories. The details of her hands tell their own story, of a rock climbing farmer who picks up a fiddle and a banjo from time to time. If you’re having trouble getting in touch with her, chances are she’s off in the woods or up a mountain somewhere, climbing around on rocks or swinging in her hammock.
The camera is Yuri’s comfort blanket — that and the oyster bar. He loves meeting new people and capturing real moments in a way that can be treasured by generations. In his spare time, he enjoys the out-of-the-way winding road with his wife, but they’re likely cleaning up after their two kids. Yuri also feels silly about third person references. ^_^
Aaron got his start in cinematography through filming concerts before pursuing his passion in the wedding film industry. When he isn’t filming weddings, Aaron enjoys traveling, seeking out new adventures, and playing disc golf. Aaron is always striving to expand his horizons and increase his knowledge in both his art and his craft.
Laura comes to us with a strong passion for capturing real moments and authentic stories. With a background in photography, video, and animation her creativity shows no bounds. Her love for dogs is no joke — which is part of the reason she fits in so well at BDLB. When she’s not behind the camera you’ll probably find her wandering around town with her pup, eating all the things that the Triangle has to offer, and daydreaming about her next travel adventure abroad.
